Last Updated: March 27, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using DocketMath (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
DocketMath provides computational tools designed for legal professionals. You are responsible for ensuring the Service meets your professional obligations and for complying with all applicable laws, rules, and ethics requirements in your jurisdiction.
2. Description of Service
DocketMath offers jurisdiction-aware legal calculation tools for informational purposes. The Service includes calculators, workspace features, saved scenarios, and integrations that rely on third-party infrastructure (including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payments, and Microsoft Clarity and PostHog for analytics). Results are designed to assist legal professionals but are not a substitute for professional judgment or legal counsel.
3. Not Legal Advice
IMPORTANT: DocketMath does not provide legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is formed.
Calculator outputs are generated based on user inputs and reference data. They are provided solely for informational purposes, may contain errors or omissions, and should not be relied upon as legal advice or a substitute for professional judgment. You must independently verify all results and consult qualified counsel as needed. Use of the Service does not create an attorney-client relationship with DocketMath or any of its officers, employees, or agents.
4. Account Registration
- Provide accurate and complete information when creating or updating your account.
- Maintain the confidentiality of login credentials and restrict access to authorized individuals.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access or security concerns.
- Ensure calculator inputs and outputs comply with applicable confidentiality and privacy obligations.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access or extract data from the Service without written permission.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense any data, calculations, or content obtained from the Service.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
6. Intellectual Property
DocketMath owns all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including software, calculator logic, designs, and branding. Except where permitted by applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on the Service without written consent. Users retain ownership of their own calculation inputs and data stored in the Service.
7. Payment and Billing
The Service offers free and paid subscriptions, as well as token-based access for certain calculators. By starting a paid plan or purchasing tokens, you authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method. Except where required by law:
- Credit purchases are non-refundable once consumed.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time.
- Plan changes may adjust your billing on a prorated basis.
- Pricing changes will be communicated in advance when materially different.
- Refunds are assessed at our discretion.
8. Data Accuracy Disclaimer
DocketMath calculations are based on publicly available legal data. We do not guarantee that any information provided is current, complete, or accurate. Laws, rules, and rates change frequently. Calculations for jurisdictions outside the United States may be generated by artificial intelligence and have not been verified by local legal professionals. AI-generated content may contain errors, outdated information, or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for verifying all results with qualified legal counsel.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCKETMATH AND ITS AFFILIATES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocketMath will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities arising from use of or reliance on calculations, content, or information provided through the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amounts paid by you for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DocketMath, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your reliance on any calculations or information provided, violation of these Terms, or violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Fair Use and Platform Integrity
To protect platform stability, we may monitor usage for patterns indicating automation, scraping, or abusive activity. We reserve the right to rate-limit requests, pause access, or contact you to discuss higher-volume licensing if your usage materially exceeds typical professional needs.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers for critical functions, including Supabase (authentication and data storage), Stripe (payments), and Microsoft Clarity and PostHog (analytics). Your use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any applicable third-party terms, and you authorize us to share necessary data with these providers to operate the Service.
14. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time for suspected abuse, security concerns, non-payment, or breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete or deactivate your account and associated data consistent with our Privacy Policy. Fees and credits already paid are non-refundable unless required by law.
15. Modifications
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service, email, or in-product notifications. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, excluding conflict-of-law rules. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Massachusetts for any dispute arising from the Service. Parties will first attempt to resolve disputes informally before seeking judicial relief.
