Terms of Service

Last Updated: December 15, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DocketMath (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

DocketMath provides computational tools designed for legal professionals. You are responsible for ensuring the Service meets your professional obligations and for complying with all applicable laws, rules, and ethics requirements in your jurisdiction.

2. Service Description

DocketMath offers jurisdiction-aware calculators and related utilities to assist with legal computations such as judgment interest, attorney fees, deadlines, and similar calculations. The Service may include workspace features, saved scenarios, and integrations that rely on third-party infrastructure (including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payments, and Microsoft Clarity and PostHog for analytics).

3. No Legal Advice

IMPORTANT: DocketMath does not provide legal advice.

Calculator outputs are generated based on user inputs and reference data. They are provided solely for informational purposes, may contain errors or omissions, and should not be relied upon as legal advice or a substitute for professional judgment. You must independently verify all results and consult qualified counsel as needed. Use of the Service does not create an attorney-client relationship with DocketMath.

4. Accounts and Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information when creating or updating your account.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of login credentials and restrict access to authorized individuals.
  • Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access or security concerns.
  • Ensure calculator inputs and outputs comply with applicable confidentiality and privacy obligations.
  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and professional workflows.

5. Subscriptions, Billing, and Credits

The Service offers free and paid subscriptions, as well as token-based access for certain calculators. By starting a paid plan or purchasing tokens, you authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method. Except where required by law:

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Plan changes may adjust your billing on a prorated basis.
  • Credit purchases are non-refundable once consumed.
  • Pricing changes will be communicated in advance when materially different.
  • Refunds are assessed at our discretion.

6. Fair Use and Platform Integrity

To protect platform stability, we may monitor usage for patterns indicating automation, scraping, or abusive activity. We reserve the right to rate-limit requests, pause access, or contact you to discuss higher-volume licensing if your usage materially exceeds typical professional needs (e.g., automated scripts or sustained high-frequency calculations).

We may suspend or terminate accounts engaging in abuse, unauthorized automated access, or activity that degrades Service performance for other users.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers for critical functions, including Supabase (authentication and data storage), Stripe (payments), and Microsoft Clarity and PostHog (analytics). Your use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any applicable third-party terms, and you authorize us to share necessary data with these providers to operate the Service. Availability or performance issues with third-party providers may affect the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

DocketMath owns all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including software, calculator logic, designs, and branding. Except where permitted by applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on the Service without written consent.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCKETMATH AND ITS AFFILIATES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocketMath will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amounts paid by you for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DocketMath, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

11. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time for suspected abuse, security concerns, non-payment, or breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete or deactivate your account and associated data consistent with our Privacy Policy. Fees and credits already paid are non-refundable unless required by law.

12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding conflict-of-law rules. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute arising from the Service. Parties will first attempt to resolve disputes informally before seeking judicial relief.

13. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service, email, or in-product notifications. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Contact and Support

For questions about these Terms or to report issues, contact us at support@docketmath.com. Legal counsel should review these Terms before production deployment.
